Wich is the best payment processor?

Hello at all,

i hope this thread gives more reaction then my other. Wich is the best payment processor that cs-cart can use at the moment?

Because i have see all PP have a lot of rolled reserve up to 10% and i get the money only after 90 days, that really haevy…

Where i get the best conditions?

thanks very much!

PM: i come from germany and have cs-cart version 2.0.8

Triplex,

I am in US.

I use Innovative with Quickbooks. However, I do process off line.

There is no reserve and I receive the funds in 1-3 business days.

I would never use a processor with what you said “10% and i get the money only after 90 days,”

I hope they give you interest on your money for holding it for 90 days.

Bob

O.K. but i think you loose many customers, if they dont can use credit card or other optional payments, isnt that true?

Triplex,

I accept many credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner) on line, just process through Quickbooks, off line. I also accept PayPal via PayPal express.

Customers can user any of the above payment methods. Plus checks are accepted.

Bob

Triplex,

I use Innovative gateway - roughly the same as Innovative Quickbooks.

I am wondering are you in a high risk type of business?

For non high risk business in America 1-3 business days is normal.

Triplex,

Roughly means almost the same, although I get funds in 2 to 3 days not 1 to 3 days.

Intuit owns Quickbooks and Innovative Gateway (payment gateway) and they also offer merchant accounts. In my setup I do not use Quickbooks but I use Innovative’s merchant account and payment gateway.

If I call with a question sometimes a Quickbooks staff person will answer the phone. They are open 24 hours a day.

They may not offer accounts outside the USA.

that sounds very good, but i am from outside the usa, germany :frowning: But i´ve see that Quckbooks have another countrys too About • Culture • Corporate Responsibility • Press • Investors | Intuit but i dont know is the product from lexware develeoped by Quickbooks original…? And what´s the name on lexware that i have the similar software Quickbook, quicken… mhh and the creditcard processor maybe work in germany too over lexware.

For us, in European countries, there’s not a lot from what to choose from, but, besides my local gateway, I use Paypal (regular) with success. The payment is easy, safe and simple, client’s don’t even need a paypal account, just fill out their card data.

At least I’ve never had any problems what so ever with it, so, I rate ir 5 stars  for European payments.

I am sorry to hear that Europe does not offer good payment gateways.

PayPal is not as good as our Innovative merchant account/payment gateway but it sounds much better than the other choices.

Your are absolutly sure that we from germany can not take this merchant account? I´ve download it the german version from quickbooks from lexware but i cant find a option where i can made the credit card processing.

It’s not quite like it sounds, but in fact the major gateway and the most used is Paypal, precisely because at a global level, we don’t have many choices, at least not as good as paypal.

Paypal can be used like regular gateway; the client hits “Pay” and goes straight to paypal page, where, if he or she does not have an account, the first thing they see is the order resume and the fields were to put credit card details, only then it is offered the chance to create a paypal account, but there’s no obligation to do that, you can simply pay with your credit card and “finito”!

In order to get a profesional look, it is advised to have a business account (you dont have to pay anything for it).

Of course, each country as their local banck gateways that we can use opening a merchant account at our banck, but these are more complex to the user (at least in Spain), where you have to put a lot of security codes in order to the payment be authorized.

In the U.K. there are a few other good gateway choices, but Europe is bigger than U.K., so…

And what i am wonder the payment addon Gate2shop isnt in the version 2.0.8 i cant understand it.

E.Qi.Librium what is with the rolled reserve from paypal, how much is that?

Triplex,

I do not know for sure who can sign up for Innovative but usually you will need an American merchant account and address.

As for PayPal I do not know the European rules but in America all you need is a bank account.

Your customers do not need an account and there are no reserves and your money is available in around 4 days. Thi is with a simple PayPal account.

They also have merchant accounts with better rates and more paperwork.

With Paypal I pay around 3,5% plus 0,35 cents. per order (something like this).

There is nothing more to pay.

When my account started to have more payments, the only thing they asked me was to fax my IDto prove my identity, nothing more.

It’s fast, simple and effective.

P.S. No, I do not earn any comissions from paypal;)

read here that is what i mean http://www.businessweek.com/smallbiz/running_small_business/archives/2009/08/paypals_reserve.html therefore i dont know is paypal really good for my shop.

Triplex,

As you read, “reserve requirements are a new policy instituted earlier this year for less than 1% of PayPal sellers”.

I assume they have done this to some “risk sellers”, so, I don’t think you will have problems with this, as this reserve is only made to existing sellers that paypal consider risky. As you must know, Paypal offers theire clients the full refund of the payments made to a sellers if they encounter any problem what so ever with them. So, it is only understandable that the sellers that aleady had some refunds made by paypal need to have a reserve so that paypal can garanty this refund to their customers.

Bottom line, as a regular seller, you don’t need any kind of reserve with paypal, just open an account, set your bank details to receive the transfers, and that’s it.

If you behave and don’t mislead your customers, you will never have problems with paypal. I advise you to let this reserve theme behind, it is only for “bad sellers”.

I have been using it for a while now and never had a problem. Besides, they have an excellent and fast customer service, so, anything that you need resolved, you are garanteed to have your answer.
