T-Shirt / Product Designer Addon

Well if anyone in the future finds a cart that does it (and works) as standard let me know. Opportunity missed by cscart in my opinion. would have been a great usp.

Their’s been alot of opportunities missed by CS-Cart, back in the days when a dozen developers reveled over CS it flourished with free mods/addons, however CS is slowly being consumed by the “deaf ear syndrome”.

Hi,

Nice discussion going on here!

I am interested in donating for this mod if it ever comes of the ground.

I have done some searching to on what’s available and apart from all the other sites already mentioned i have found some extre resources.

Software

This one looks pretty cool:

Maybe we can connect their designer to CS-Cart?

Same for this:

http://www.developflash.com/

This one even has a component to be used by developers.

Yeah I enquired about the 2day biz one, I did get a response but was unable to determine if it was ok just to bolt on to CS or did it need to run independant,I am waiting for a reply, I ilike the simplicity of it though. I think this is one of the reasons the CS quote was so expensive, just trying to fit too many different peoples needs for the many different user needs of the cart…

I’m in talks with new developers about moving forward with the Product Designer Addon, now that we’re wrapping up the QI Addon we can begin to focus our attention here - Sno

Thats good news I haver been talking to elance about the same, but would rather it be CS Developed.

John

Great, looking forward to the Product Designer Addon

Good News, Alexey at the Alt-Team, a Russian based company experienced with CS-Cart, has a developer experienced enough to create the “Product Designer Addon” for us at an extremely affordable price. Here is the situation.

The Alt-Team has plans develop the “Product Designer Addon” themselves to sell in the future at a cost of $250 per license per domain. However the project is not priority for them therefore will not be done until the end of January.

The Alt-Team has informed me their version of the addon will be binded to the domain of the customer. I’m assuming this means the addon will not be open source and the code encrypted which is not good.

The Alt-Team can offer us 2 variants of cooperation for this project:

  1. We can wait until the end of January (3+ months) and buy the addon from the Alt-Team for $250 per domain.

  2. We can accelerate the addon development project having paid a part of cost of development at a rate of $1500. In this case the project will be completed in the beginning of December (1 month) and we (the addon club) will receive 10 domain licenses.

    The Alt-Team will also take into account our requirements for the project instead of just doing what they want or what they think the customer wants.

  3. Here is Snorocket’s suggestion, we go for option #2 but I would like to offer them a possible #3 option that we may purchase the exclusivity rights for the addon from the Alt-Team so that we may install on unlimited company owned domains with unencrypted code. What do you guys think? $1500 is not bad at all and even if they tacked on another $$$$ for exclusivity rights it’s still 70% cheaper then CS’s quote. Too bad these guys came along a little late for the Quote Addon, ugh - Sno

Im in

JOhn

I’m not but keep us informed on how the business relationship goes.

OK folks well it looks like this addon is going to be a winner. Selecting variant 2 and getting the addon 3+ months sooner seems to be the better option and is actually $100 cheaper per license.

We need a current roster of who’s in, basically we have 10 licenses @ $150/ea. and I’m going to snatch up 2 for now. I know johnbol1 is in for at least 1 maybe more. If the demand exceeds the 10 domain license set by the Alt-Team I’m sure we could re-negotiate terms for more licenses but for now it’s 10.

Who’s In:

Snorocket = 2 licenses @ $300

johnbol1 = 1 license @ $150

Guys just update me whether your in and how many licenses you want and I’ll keep the roster up to date. When all 10 licenses are spoken for we’ll collect donations and pay the Alt-Team, Thanks - Sno

3 for me Sno

Sno,

Could you please summarize what this addon will do?

I know that it will be set up for people to put their own images and text on t-shirts, but what about other products? I know you have the whole woodworking thing going on and maybe you have plans on using this for that?

I interested in getting in on this, but only if it can do basically any product.

Thanks,

Brandon

Hi Brandon, Yes you will be able ti use the addon for many types of products and it’s actually going to be much more advanced and configurable then most product designer type addons.

Our version will have several different product “modes” for different business types. Ex: embroidery mode, engraving mode, screen-printing mode, vinyl lettering mode ect…so at least one of the product modes should be compatible with your business type.

The latest screenshots which are still in the works are here:

Hi Brandon, did you see the screen shots for the Product Designer, it should work for you no problem. You can use several different product types and their will be 3 or 4 different business modes for embroidery, engraving, screen-printing, vinyl lettering ect…

The latest screen-shots are located here:

*Note for all interested we can still change the design of this addon and/or add features that would make it more compatible with your business.

I am in for one. I need it for engraving. Sno, I have some basic requirements. I just want to make sure that it has a basic mode.

Hi Adam, their will be an engraving mode that will work and is pretty basic, this is the mode I plan on using for our business. If their is anything specific just let us know now so we can make sure it’s included, Thanks - Sno

Who’s In:

Snorocket = 2 licenses @ $300

johnbol1 = 3 licenses @ $450

jegesmaci = 1 license @ $150

Sno,

One last question before I commit.

When CS-Cart upgrades to future versions, what about this addon?

I’ll contact the developers for this answer but I’m assuming they will cover the uprgade costs as they plan to sell the addon themselves it wouldn’t make sense for us to pay this.

What we are paying now is to accelerate the development and release plus the license cost is actually cheaper now - Sno

This is the second best addon on my wishlist, firs in quote/invoicing addon.

Yes i’m in for 1 (my Site vinyl lettering/tsirts) (possibly 2 (my sister card design site although shes on prestashop at the moment) and long term 3 or 4) that is a great price for the addon.

How would the upgrades be done. Would they be free for a year (and we then pay for updates) or lifetime for free.

Option 3 is very nice, but don’t think they would go for it as that’s how they are going to make their money, reselling.

The only option if your in discussion is if the initial payments we get some more free licenses that will either reduce the price individually or get them to do a bogof so each license gets 2 licenses. This would help them get more websites for them online so they can give samples to new buyers of what their software can do and show they have a larger user base. Just my thoughts.

Guess we need to wait and see how many people want it, and if lots more than 10 go back and renegotiate.

Thought this idea was as good as dead. Was surprised it had come back to life.
