It is recommended to install the release candidates independently.
Installing RC 6 right over RC 5 may have unpredictable consequences because there are some significant differences between the 2.

Where can I download the community edition of 3 RC? Or will it not be available?

There's no Community edition for release candidates, but the final CS-Cart 3 release will of course be available in Community edition.

When the final version comes out, you may upgrade from RC5, or it will be necessary to install the last release candidate.

But then the real question comes in.... At what point will it be considered production quality given that being loaded on real production sites doing real checkout and other work will reveal other issues that have not been seen and addressed yet. You'll learn a lot about useability when daily tasks are done for real and "reaction situations" have to be done in real-time.

But then everyone's definition of a stable product relates more to how it addresses their own business problems rather than the product as a whole.

We've just fixed a few issues which were caused by a recent server update. The error you're referring to should be resolved as well.

i just checked the cs 3 and i think RC will go up to RC 99 and then they will be fed up and come up with a totally new version.

Most of the links doesnt work, until you refresh the page.
The site looks almost same as Open Cart.

Why dont you create a poll and ask customers (us) what we really want. for example:

1) CS- 2.2.4 but faster stable cart
2) CS 3 (totaly new cart)
3) CS 2.2.5 with the new futures from CS3 (would be another poll inside the poll)

4) etc...

try it, othewise it looks like you will loose many customers and loose much more time playing with the cs3
Thats my opinion and i am sure you would have much more experience then me on developing and marketing your software.

I would really like to see a quickly released 2.2.5 bugfix only version first as I am quite certain there will be many of us running production stores that will decide to remain on this version for quite some time before moving to the 3.xx platform.

Hopefully the CS-Cart staff will consider this.

If you are currently running on a stable release and have no need for new features I would remain on this version 2.2.4 until 3.xx seems stable.

Though if you are just starting a new store development then I would go with the latest 3.x.x version. By the time you have your store fully ready/tested most critical bugs will have gone.
