A vendor recently noticed, using the search within his micro store does not produced results. He has searched his products using different string of words that are part of his listing titles but no results are “found”
However, gets results on the main page search no matter what words he uses in any order.
Is there a solution to fix this?!
I have also observed this behavior. In my opinion, this has to do with the fact that you are in a sub-category in which the product you are looking for does not exist.
You have to open the root category of the micro-store and then search for the product. I don’t know why it was programmed this way again
At top level => When I searched in microstore for that vendors products it was returned. When I searched for another vendors product it wasn’t returned … that is what I would have expected.
When I select a sub category and searched for a product that wasn’t in that sub category it didn’t find the product. I suspect that cs-cart would say that is working as intended and I think there is an arguement for that.Iif a vendor had thousands of similar products and you only wanted to find them within that sub category then this is how you would want it to operate.
You could possibly ask @ecomlabs or @cart-power who I think are some of the better developers to develop a custom mod that prompts the user with “We didn’t find anything in that category, would you like to search the whole store?” and/or " … should I search all vendors?".
Thank you so much for responding. We currently have over 20,000 listed items between, maybe 18 vendors. We know that will grow. This feature is dire for us and there’s no reason for it NOT to be displaying results despite of the order of words being searched. One vendor has well over 4,000 listed products alone, another vendor has 14,000 - others will follow. If the vendor store search is not coming back with results, the way it should, I consider a “bug” somewhere. Or some kind of solution. @CS-Cart_team
Again, thank you @chickentwisty !!
Sorry, but I was unable to reproduce this issue in the clean CS-Cart Multi-Vendor installation, so it’s likely that there is something that changes the default behavior in your installation. Add-ons, changes to core files or some issue with the data in the database. I’m afraid I can’t say more without checking your installation directly. Please contact us on this via the Help Desk.
