There is a plugin that does validate the VAT IDs, for a B2B marketplace, within EU. This plugin is no longer maintained by the developer (according to the developer him self) who developed it, but since this is a feature that is required by law (for VAT to be deducted from invoice as well as VAT ID showing on invoice) this feature should be a core function in CS-cart.

The plugin; CS-CART EUROPEAN VIES VAT NUMBER

Feature includes;

  • VAT ID (live VIES validation) for Customer signup
  • VAT ID (live VIES validation) for Vendor signup
  • VAT ID (live VIES validation) for Checkout
  • Tax exemption based on VAT validation & Customer and Vendor locations.
  • VAT ID for both Customer & Seller on invoice (and/or Admin/Marketplace; if seller)

One solution;
Since the plugin already exist, but needs adaption to latest version - just buy it from SEONID and update it. The developer is very sick and don’t have time to maintain it.

Why is it important?
It’s required by EU law, in B2B sector.

Thank you, that is the addon I linked too - but @CS-Cart_team removed the link.
That is also the addon that is NO longer maintaind - spoke to the developer a few days ago.
