I somehow cannot seem to get the VAT Report’s data to fit the sales data 
I have a VAT report, selecting (fltering) only European countries, and selecting on ‘products’, a custom period (3 months), and ‘total’.
I use exactly the same report for product cost and taxes and would expect the two results to fit.
Well, no matter what I change, I NEVER get a total sales amount that has any relevance to the reported tax amount. (VAT here is 19%, and is correctly calculated on all orders that are applicable).
Somehow the reporting function of CS-cart needs some more work?
