Has anyone disabled the “Registered” user group, or otherwise disconnected it from any custom user groups? We have payment and shipping options available based on 2 user groups (Customer and Dealer). If we don’t select “Registered”, new users can’t shop. If we do check “Registered”, it overrides our other groups and everyone sees all payment/shipping options.
We fought this in the beginning and had the devs write a bunch of custom code to auto-assign new users to the Customer group. It was buggy, but mostly acceptable. Now we’ve updated everything and I’m hoping to come up with a cleaner way to handle this.
Hoping for some ideas!
I think it boils down to separating “Registered” from “Dealer”.
