Hi:
I am looking for the easiest possible way to upgrade from 1.3 to newest version. I am worried that there may be some issues with the upgrade and we cannot afford to have nay downtime. We need to upgrade to fix the bug issues.
I tried to download all files and database and configure it locally on an linux Ubuntu machine but did not have any luck getting the site to load.
I want to make sure I am covered with the old site / files just in case something goes wrong.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Install a 2nd copy of your shop at another or subdomain or just a directory.
Upgrade that shop.
When you're satisfied copy the new shop to the main location.

Flow can you tell me how to install a 2nd copy where do you do this at ?
