I just upgraded my 4.0.2 which was imported from 2.2.5 to 4.0.3. The upgrade went smoothly although many files show that they have local modifications even though none of these were modified by me. The biggest problem I have is after the upgrade going to store import where I was on Actualize data step before the upgrade is now back to step one to do the import again which means all my work in design and all my setting will be lost. This is not good.
Does anyone encounter the same and how can I preserve my changes?
Thank you
Joe
What I had to do:-
Backup the /design/themes/yourtheme/ folder
Export layouts
Create database backup just in case
Then navigate to:-
yourstore.com/youradmin.php?dispatch=store_import.index.step_4
Then 'Proceed to actualizing', this left my customised store design in place, while importing the most recent data.
If it all goes to pot, you can simply restore your themes folder and import your exported layouts file. Failing that, restore the database.
I also sent you a PM.

Thank you , it worked perfect. I did not have to restore my layout or my them , everything looks as should be.
One Note: last time I did the Actualize data step, it did overwrite everything except my design and settings, this time around I edited the table_replacement.php file and imported only what I needed which is the orders and users data.
Thanks again
Joe
Seems like you are trying to use the “store import” for an “upgrade”. These are NOT the same. Once you have a running store, you should no longer use the store import, but instead wait for the upgrade to be available in your Upgrade Center and then go through that process.
You should not upgrade until after you have completed migrating your store from Vwhatever to V4.

My store import was not complete yet, I was still at the actualize data section, I waited for 4.0.3 because the store import had bugs, so I upgraded to 4.0.3 hoping that will fix the bugs and then I can finish the store and go live with it. I learned the hard way, but what gets me there is no documentation whatsoever on how to upgrade and such. I saw the 4.0.3 was available in the upgrade center and went for it. After the upgrade a ton of files had local modifications which does not make any sense since I did not modify any files, this was the situation with previous versions and still is.

I get this error when I try to edit an order:
ErrorUnknown column 'cscart_gift_certificates.company_id' in 'where clause' b[/b] SELECT gift_cert_code FROM cscart_gift_certificates WHERE status = 'A' AND cscart_gift_certificates.company_id = 1
If I disable the Gift Certificate addon the error goes away.
Any help with with this is much appreciated.
Thanks
Joe
Our question is after we imported into V4.0.2 all was good then upgraded to V4.0.3… Can we now uninstall the store import tool add-on. ???
Sure, it is no longer used for anything that I'm can tell.
