Updating jQuery from 3.5.1 to 3.7.1 – Any Known Issues?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently running CS-Cart version 4.18.3, and I noticed that it’s using jQuery version 3.5.1. I would like to update jQuery to the latest 3.7.1 version to improve performance and compatibility with some custom scripts and modern libraries.

Before making any changes, I wanted to ask:

  • Has anyone successfully updated jQuery to 3.7.1 in CS-Cart?
  • Are there any known issues or conflicts with CS-Cart core or popular add-ons when using jQuery 3.7.1?
  • Is there an official or recommended method for updating jQuery safely within the CS-Cart environment?

Any advice, experience, or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The last time jQuery was updated in CS-Cart, from version 3.3.1 to version 3.5.1, the only thing that broke was elFinder, the file manager used for products. Fortunately, the elFinder developers have released a new version that fixes the issues encountered. So, alongside the jQuery update, elFinder was updated too.

In this case, there are no recommendations, since this task is usually performed by the product architects within the scope of CS-Cart updates, and outside of this scope it is not considered at all.
