I was wondering if its possible to modify the existing default Cs-cart Reward points addon by turning it into a Wallet system? Already the addon has some basic wallet features in that the points can be used to buy a product. Why not turn it into a full wallet system?
- Customers should be able to add money (points)
- Instead of showing the “Price in points” on the product page, we can show “Cash back”. No need to say price in points since by now customers already know that what’s in their wallet is money.
- Customers should not be able to withdraw or request a withdraw since whatever goes into their wallet is meant to be spent on the marketplace.
Why do I want this? It’s more useful. And I’d like to further enhance it so that an auction addon like the one by Cart-power could communicate with the wallet. This would allow me to create functions like, setting required cash per product category or individual product before customer can place a bid on an auction. For example in the auction addon, I’d set products in “Used Cars” category to require cash $300 in bidder’s wallet.
If a customer has $250 cash in their wallet, auction system tells them they can’t bid because they have low cash. Required cash is $300. And user can then recharge.
If a customer wins a bid and fails to make a purchase, we can change the order status to fail and the auction addon should automatically record this and then depending on the settings it should ban them and then debit the $300 as penalty fee.
