Stripe connect standard vs Direct Customer-to-Vendor Payments Add-on

Hi,

For multivendor marketplace Plus, what are people’s thoughts about pros and cons for Stripe connect standard vs Direct Customer-to-Vendor Payments Add-on by CS Cart and why did you choose one over the other?

I would like a marketplace where customers pay directly to the vendors but to also charge vendors for subscription fees every month.

Also if the marketplace owner needed to investigate any payment issues with customers and vendors, in case of a complaint etc, what would be the best add-on between the 2?

I chose to use Stripe Connect Standard because it provides convenience and an easier marketplace payment process for customers. They only have to make one payment for all of their purchases from multiple vendors instead of having to pay each order individually to each vendor. The marketplace can also collect its fees automatically from each vendor as well.

You’ll just create as many or as few vendor plans as your marketplace needs for charging vendors a subscription fee. You can choose having just a one-time fee, a monthly fee, just a sales % fee, or a combination depending on your needs. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this shouldn’t be dependent on the type of payment processing you use (stripe connect standard vs direct customer to vendor).

The Direct customer to vendor just allows each vendor to be able to setup their own payment processing and I think you have to manually collect payments from vendors for each order.

Thanks for the info. This is very useful. With the recurring payments plans for vendors, say if the vendor has not paid or made a later payment, do you have to manually activate or disable users on CS cart admin portal?

I cannot find much info on this other than using an add-on.

if addon is on pretty sure the default is they are suspended, search suspended here Vendor-to-Admin Payments — CS-Cart 4.18.x documentation

Look for Vendor-to-admin payments add-on in your list of add-ons, make sure its installed and enabled, click on it to modify settings. Click the settings tab and make your changes there.

Apologies all, I missed typed and I wanted to ask if using the Stripe recurring payments plans for vendors, if the vendor has not paid or made a later payment, would you normally have manually activate or disable users on CS cart admin portal or use a separate add-on to help with doing this automatically?
