Sold-Out Item Page Redirect Settings

Hey guys,

My website currently throws 404 error when users try to re-visit a sold-out product page.

I've read today that that may not be a good thing, but a better approach would be to notify that it is sold out and redirect them to a category page or the main..

How are you guys handling sold-out product page redirects, and can someone help me where to set that up so that I can direct the user to another page after few seconds?

Looks like your products has the Disabled status. It is better to set Hidden one. In this case product will not be displayed in catalog and search results, but still will be available through direct link (e.g. from search engine)
