I’ve just run across http://shopping-cart-migration.com which provides data migration between various shopping carts (including CS-Cart 2.0.x). Has anyone used their service?
Glen
It is owned by magneticone.com, which is a Russian company.
I cannot be sure, but I “THINK” I remember them on the X forums when I was active and I think they got banned.
again, it was a long time ago and I could be thinking of the wrong company but…I might not be.
Search the internet for reviews if you can.
I haven’t truly used them, but I did go throug the process of a demo migration. I did a demo of CS-Cart 2.x to Magento 1.3. The demo only allowed for me to migrate about 10 products, but it did it and it did it well.
The migration not only transfered the products, but the category information, the images associated with the categories and products, all the product information, and even the product options.
The process was actually pretty simple. My only complaint is that you can’t actually download the script so it can only be done with sites on the net rather than on a localhost.
Like I said I haven’t truly used the service, but if the real thing is anything like the demo than this is a pretty neat migration tool.

Used this software a few times now to import a zen cart store into cs cart. Its worked pretty well. Had a few problems but their support got back to us pretty quickly and fixed any problems we’ve had. Its saved us so much time importing everything manually.

I used their store manager software for X-C once upon a time - I found that in general, they had issues with the software that I pointed out and they failed to resolve - i.e. they supported FTP only for image and file support, broke product options, and after a few 4.2 revisions serious database inconsistencies began to occur.
Good concepts - poor upkeep - with these cart products updating as often as they do, you have to keep on your toes once you come out with an add-in products. These guys did not do so (by my estimation). A shame - but the failure of their software (and my being fed up with a clunky and time consuming admin interface) brought to cs-cart so at least they were good for something.

Any chance of a cs-cart manager ?
I bought the creloaded manager and still use it, I think it’s a great tool but didn’t buy a update anymore. The reason I decided not to wasn’t because I was unhappy with the application. I simply think Magneticone are not being honest with the cart-manager users. When they introduced the new licence structure they said support updates would continue to be free but you won’t find any to download if you don’t have a licence for a new version. As updates take months to come you are paying about $100 per update and no new features.
Any new features introduced to the cart-manager are now “Addons” and need to be bought on top of the ongoing licence. If I had bought the licence each year I would have paid over $600 now for clearing up your bugs only.

Hi kickoff3pm,
Thank you for a good remark. We didn’t know about such misunderstandings with our update service. Let me explain it. When you buy a Primary License you get our update service for 6 month free of charge. After 6 moths if you want to update you program you need to buy our update service which costs $49 for 6 months, $89 for a year and $119 for 24 months (2 years). The last variant would be the most cost-effective for you.
Each months we launch new versions of Store Manager, so I would recommend you to follow up with our releases and update your Store Manager from time to time. You can find details about our recent releases on our site.
Now a few words about Store Manager addons. They bring additional features to the application. For example, you can integrate your Store Manager with QuickBooks, ICEcat, export orders to Mail Order Manager software, set up automated product import from a supplier, perform bulk updates. Everyone can choose the function he needs the most and buy an appropriate addon.
As for Store Manager for CS-Cart, we will definitely take it into consideration. But for now I cannot tell you the approximate date. At this time we are working at Store Manager for VirtueMart.
Thanks again for your comment. We will make sure that the conditions of our update service are described clearly on our site to avoid such misunderstandings in the future.
