Shipping calculations not correct

We are having problems with calculating shipping cost on our shopping cart.
When a customer orders multiple items with appears that it calculates multiple boxes if they order 8 different items. Instead of it calculating 8 items in one large box it calculates 8 boxes. So the shipping should be $35.00 but it says $93.00.
We are losing business because our customers are backing out of the cart once they see the shipping cost. Any help would be appreciated on how to fix this. Do we need a third party software? We are currently connected to UPS and Fed Ex on an API but calculations are almost always wrong. Please help us. 317-788-6920 I would be happy to pay someone if you know how to fix it.

Is this a new problem that has showed up with a recent update? Or it’s been going on for a while and you’re only now noticing it?

It has actually been an ongoing issue. We took out the dimensions on the boxes and just put the weights and that seemed to help but once we did the last upgrade it forced us to put in dimensions. So once we did that the problem is back

If you leave “Items in a box” at 0-0, you can also leave the dimensions as 0. I’m on version 4.19.1 SP2. Maybe something changed if you upgraded to 4.20.1.
