Setup Admin Account with Limited Access

I’d like to have a 3rd party add and edit some products, but not have access to sensitive areas of the site (settings, orders, etc.).



1] Created new membership type = Editor

2] Set account type = Administrator

3] Set Privileges = Only areas I allow via the check boxes



I then made a new user with the membership type = Editor. I assigned user name and password. But when I log in this user has full access. Seems the privileges settings are not taking effect.



What did I do wrong?

Did you click update button when you finished setup rights?

Yes, I even logged out, then back in to make sure my settings were saved.



When I click on the User that was created, the settings that are checked are correct.



I then waited several hours just in case it takes a while for changes to take effect. Still have the same results.

I NEED TO CREATE a USER that can only acess CATALOG from ADMIN PANEL.



This user can not see anything else inside ADMIN PAGE. Nothing else.





I will pay people to INSERT new products. So, these people can not change anything else. They can only INSERT or CHANGE products inside Catalog. No new categories or something like that. Just to INSERT products (description, prices…)





So, what I have just done:


  1. Create a new USER ADMIN.
  2. Create a new group called “Cadastrador de produtos” (IMAGE IN ATTACH)
  3. In the PRIVILEGES of this new group I just mark (IMAGE IN ATTACH)

    CATALOG

    Manage catalog View catalog

    NOTHING ELSE.


  4. When I edit USER PROFILE, we have ADMINistrator and Cadastrador de produtos.

    So, I put administrator like INACTIVE.



    When I logoff and try to enter like this NEW USER, I HAVE TOTAL acess of all tabs and administration panel.





    Like I said, I just want that this USER GROUP can only SEE (acess) PRODUCTS catalog to insert NEW PRODUCTS. Just this. Nothing else.

Try changing ‘Disponivel’ (Available) to ‘Aprovado’ (approved). That seems to be working for me.

Yeah man.



things are working now.



But one more tab appear: CONTENT. I don’t know why, but it is there.

I found in the “admin users profile page” under the “usergroups” tab, make sure it’s set to “active” and not available, it’s only effective when set to “active” check this and let us know the results - Sno



It works for me. I can’t access any section restricted in the privileges.
