in the documentation, it says we can add separate SMTP for separate storefronts, but I cannot see option to select storefronts when adding SMTP details.
Problem happens in Multivendor Ultimate
In documentation, it says users can set separate SMTP details for separate Storefronts.
But when we go to emails under General setting, the option to select storefront disappears.

Hi!
Different SMTP settings for different storefronts are only available in CS-Cart Store Builder, not in Multi-Vendor.
Can you show mw a link to documentatio where it says its only available for CS Cart store Builder? You are just trying to sell something else, I am sorry I did not mean to be rude but the documentation I am referring to is cleary for CS cart and CS Cart Multivendor. This is a bug and must be fixed. Please don’t try to avoid and resel other products when we have spend 1000s of dollars on one product
Please ready again the screenshot I attached from documentation.
Here is another proof,
The feature was released in 2017 when Cs Card Builder was released in 2023. This feature was there before you pushed the changes.
I reported a bug earlier,
CS Cart Team cleverly moved the task to General questions area. I have provided sufficient information and screenshots to prove it is a bug. Please do not love that issue or this issue until the bug is fixed.
Hi!
I used to work on CS-Cart documentation at the time, and can confirm that it is a documentation issue. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have already asked our writers to fix the error, and added your vote for adding separate SMTP servers for different storefronts in Multi-Vendor.
Below I’ll explain how and why the issue in the documentation occurred.
-
Back in the day, “CS-Cart” referred to what we now call “CS-Cart Store Builder”. We later added the “Store Builder” part to help differentiate between 2 CS-Cart products (for marketplaces and for single-seller online stores). Over time, as we review and update the articles, we get rid of the obsolete “CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor” wording.
-
Version 4.6.1 released in June 2017. It added separate SMTP servers for separate storefronts. But storefronts at the time were only available in Store Builder Ultimate (also known as “CS-Cart Ultimate” at the time).
-
In June 2019, we released Multi-Vendor Ultimate that added storefronts. Here is the now outdated documentation for version 4.10.x, where the storefronts first appeared. In version 4.9.x, storefronts didn’t exist in Multi-Vendor at all.
Storefronts in Multi-Vendor were implemented differently, as described here (functionality was being added over the course of several versions):
Storefronts — CS-Cart 4.18.x documentation
This is when the “article as written” became an error. This has gone unnoticed until you pointed this out in this topic. Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing this up.
Thank you for your reply.
Considering the issue was on documentation side, there will be many buyers, who would have bought the MV Ultimate considering this functionality which is a basic need for a product like MV with multiple storefront option.
Can you imagine buying a product on ebay but getting email from Amazon? Of course not, the first thing that should come in your mind will be “It could be a scam”. This is same thing happening at the stage with CS cart MV ultimate.
This is one of the reason there is none storefront successful which is based on CS Cart MV unlimited.
Considering this was documentation issue or falsly advertised feature, can you provide us a temporary fix where our emails go from relevant storefront? We have 2 storefronts, just help us to temporarily set separate SMTP for both.
I undestand your concerns and can assure you that we didn’t intend to mislead you or falsely advertise any feature. “CS-Cart” and “Multi-Vendor” in the article you mentioned were worded as separate products. We’ve already adjusted the note at the end of the article to refer specifically to Store Builder: Emails — CS-Cart 4.18.x documentation
As covered in the blog announcement and in another documentation article, storefronts in Multi-Vendor are designed primarily to be branches of the same marketplace. If we use eBay as an example, storefronts are currently best-suited for things like regional branches (ebay.com, ebay.de), specific product niches (a hypothetical arts.ebay.com), etc. They can also have entirely different domains, but for example, they always have the same customer base. However, sellers only see those customers who bought from them.
You can use storefronts for other purposes, but there might be some limitations (like the one you encountered). This can be fixed by a code modification (if you need a solution urgently) or by us in one of the future versions of Multi-Vendor. Unfortunately, no software is perfect from the start; but we take all feedback into account when planning next versions of Multi-Vendor, and what to include there.
While I can’t promise a temporary fix or any timeframes, we have listed your request for different SMTP servers for different storefronts. If this functionality gets scheduled for one of the future versions and developed (and if the fix doesn’t depend heavily on other changes), we may be able to share the code here, so that people wouldn’t need to upgrade to the latest version to get it.
That’s the best I can promise for the time being.
