SEO First Letter Cut Off

I just launched my store. When I turned on SEO it has cut off the first letter of each word.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Search the forum for Lee Li Pop,

she posted a thread a little while ago about this same subject.

Jesse,

I have searched and I don’t see anything about the first letter being cut off. I did see how she setup capital first letters, which I just tired. It worked, but it capialized the first letter after it already cut off the first letter of the word:

Very strange. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,

Adam

Hello jegesmaci,

Could you give us both examples, without your domain name (/Cut-Off.html is enough):

1 - Non cut off.

2 - Cut off.

For this moment, URL rewriting in turn off.

Lee Li Pop,

With First Letter: /Cut-To-Fit-Sheet-6-X-8-5-With-Instructions.html

Without First Letter: /Ut-O-It-Heet-6-X-8-5-With-Nstructions.html

Really wierd.

Thanks for any help.

Adam

Hello jegesmaci,

Did you follow this advices:

http://forum.cs-cart.com/showthread.php?t=12610

Did you change something in this file:

/addons/seo/func.php

or in this file:

/core/fn.catalog.php

Lee Li Pop

I tried both. I first tried the /core/fn.catalog.php and it did nothing or it took off the first letter of the product name.

I then tried /addons/seo/func.php and it took the first letter off and capitalized the first character.

Why would the first letter be removed?

This is important, but my other post about my store not workig is really frustrating me.

Thanks,

Adam

Hello jegesmaci,

1 - Open your official CS-Cart 2.0.x archive

2 - Extract your 2 files:

/addons/seo/func.php

and

/core/fn.catalog.php

3 - Install them back on your server

4 - Try again

*****

Yes, I tried /core/fn.catalog.php too and doesn’t work for me…

So, if, and ONLY if, you want or you NEED it, try my alone tweak on /addons/seo/func.php

Give us a link to your “post about my store not workig”

Lee Li Pop

Thanks Lee Li Pop,

I don’t have my original install files as I had CS-Cart do the install so I didn’t copy the files. Now I see there is only 2.0.9 on the server and I probably shouldn’t try that.

I will ask support for the 2.0.8 install and we will see what happens.

Here is my post about my cart not working: http://forum.cs-cart.com/showthread.php?t=14058

I am really frustrated as I have been moving over to CS-Cart this entire weekend.

Thanks for any advice.

Hello jegesmaci,

To download again your CS-Cart archive, login to your CS-Cart Help Desk account:

A good advice:

1 - Install any WAMP your local Windows machine. For example, I use XAMP.

2 - Install CS-Cart on your local Windows machine.

3 - Play with CS-Cart on your local machine.

4 - When everything is OK, download files changed.

Lee Li Pop

I reverted all of the changes back on func.php and fn.catalog.php. I turned on seo and still didn’t work.

I have it turned on so you can see it. It removes the first letter of the word if is a capital letter.

Thanks for any help.
