Scam/Pirated?

I don’t really understand how a legal license of CS-Cart or not makes a difference in this case.

Even if a store is legally licensed it can be scam. A license just pays for the software, not authority and confirmation that the business behind the store is legit.

If you are unsure, don’t spend your money there.

And that about sums this subject up…

Anybody can buy CS-Cart… it doesnt make them legitimate…

If you dont trust them, then dont… !

If he’s wanting you to purchase something, then you might want to ask him/her…

1 ) Why they still have their install.php file still open to the public

2 ) Why they havn’t upgraded from 1.3.2. Which I guess it because of 1 of 2 reasons. He doesn’t own a licence to ‘get’ the upgrades or that he can’t be stuffed upgrading. Having said that there would be a great possibility that the site hasn’t had it’s 1.3.3 upgrade

3 ) Why his tpl’s are available

4 ) Why he still has the default skin images available (I’m 100% sure the nokia phone was used in default_blue) and yes I still have the default skin cause I’m upgrading my store at the moment

5 ) You can’t be 100% sure that it’s legal, no-one can be sure of that, if you still don’t trust him, contact the cs-cart helpdesk to verify his license.

If they don’t have his domain on file, then don’t go any futher.

However if they do, still be on your guard.

Hello,

this store uses a pirate copy of CS-Cart software and we would recommend everybody not to purchase anything from them.

Thank you.

Admin, what would we be looking for to distinguish a valid store?

At the moment such information is not open for public and only CS-Cart staff can check if the store uses a valid CS-Cart license.

If this information was available, in one form or another (to the public) it would make it easier for the pirates to disguise…

Thank you.[/quote]People who do this kind of **** really piss me off. I have a friend that produces demo’s for software and he gets ripped off all the time. His solution to the problem, he put up a special section on his website he calls “The Hall Of Shame”, and he lists the URL of everyone who pirated his work. I’m all for CS-C doing the same. As someone who pays for the license, I’m especially irked with people who don’t.

My 2¢.

Mike

The hall of shame is a great Idea…

I HATE people who do this sort of thing,

I mean… c’mon its not even expensive !! in comparison to the return it could have commerce wise…

They’re selling posters. I bet they’re ripped off too. That’s even if they deliver the product at all. There’s not a lot of treaties with Vietnam so they get your card # and wipe you out, and there ain’t squat you can do about it.
