The Sales Reports page is completly blank below the sub-links menu that “Sales Reports” resides on. I believe I'm using version 2.0.6 of CS-Cart. The store has been running smoothly since Sept '09 with about 1500 sales over the last 2 years.

SQL timeout is probably too short for what you are trying to accomplish.
Open config.local.php and review the existance of a timeout, usually php_timeout will be listed at the top of the file.
Simple comment it out by adding two forward slashes before it, like this: //
