Reward Points - Understanding them

Hello all,



Can anyone explain how to setup the reward points program to me? (A link to a web page that does describe this in detail would be appreciated as well)



What I would like to do is to give a user 10 points for every $1 they spend. Then after they spend $300 dollars, they would be automagically emailed a coupon code worth $10.



Is the above scenario possible? If not, what are my alternatives. If so, how is it done? the logic for setting something like this up is not making sense to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If a products is $100 and give the user 5 points to buy it, but the user uses 10 points from their account to buy the item to get a discount, do they still get the points for buying the item or it voids it?



I'm asking because I have a multi vendor edition and often the points are not added to the user's account. Most users uses their points to buy items so I'm not sure what's happening. It also appear that if a user buys products from more than 1 vendor, they don't get the points. Seems like if an order is set to open after payment (which I don't get why… from Paypal processing) and then the vendor set the status to complete, seems like they don't get the points.



Can someone please give me some information about the points. I did look at the knowledge base and do understand how to set them up but I like to know if there are some rules like not getting points when using points to buy an item.

Hello Belzibot,



Yes, a customer will get 5 points from a special order even if he/she used his/her previously earned points for this order. I mean that a customer will get 5 additional points when his/her order is Processed or Completed.



Reward points are not calculated for customers if the amount of the points is less than 1.



If everything is set up correctly, please contact us via Customer Help Desk and provide FTP access to your server.
