Demo Product testing: Administrations-Panel
I was just testing the latest version (CS-Cart v4.20.1) with the awesome new Nova theme, and the “Required” Options do not seem to function correctly again (at least for “Radio” and “Select Box” Type). It puts the red asterisk by the option name on the front end, but nothing needs to be selected to proceed to “Add to cart”, it just stays selected to the 1st option variant and adds that 1st option variant price to the base price on the 1st choice (without the “Please, select one” empty coded value default very 1st option variant that flags the required option from proceeding to the checkout if they do not physically select the real option variant of their choosing - The “Please, select one” empty value default 1st option variant needs to return to most likely fix the issue) and proceeds to checkout.
A “required option” usually means it needs input/acknowledgement from the user, not just that the default first option choice is selected and things move along without touching it. (it already functions this way if you make the options “not” required)
Any thoughts or am I missing a setting somewhere? We really want to upgrade to the latest version soon, but functionality needs to be working before we can proceed. Thanks!!!
This is the same issue again that has unfortunately returned and I posted the latest discovery here in case others have the same issue before created this bug report:
Attached is a screenshot and below is my test demo store front end link with the product testing. I created both a Required Global and a Required “Individual” Option and both do the same wrong action for a Required Option (“Individual” options are probably deprecated - but it still works and we really need them to stay working - “Global” options become a real mess when only one product needs an adjustment, but not the rest in the series that used that option - now there are 2 global options of the same name, then another, then another, then another, then another, etc. as needed when one or more products needs a slightly different option version from the global version - “Individual” Options for the products fixes all of that, especially when updating/importing 1000’s of product options at a time. Suggestion for AFTER fixing the “required” Options situation: Make “Individual” options a selection choice in the admin end when creating new product options - as far as I know, all new options created in the admin panel are forced to be “Global” options.
