Remove "Powered by Ecommerce shopping cart software"

Can someone please help me remove “Powered by Ecommerce shopping cart software” at the bottom of the page & “Skin by TemplateKingdom.com

Thank you in advanced.

Details are needed, im still learning how to use CS Cart.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Hi JBM,

Many of us began using CS-Cart with many of the same questions you have/had.

The best advice I was given was to exhaustively search the forums here and also the knowledge base: [URL=“http://kb2.cs-cart.com/”]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation

Over the course of developing a cart, some questions won’t have a corresponding answer in either of these places. At such times, the knowledge of the community using this forum is as superb as their time is limited since they, like you and I, are entrepreneurs in their own right often running multiple businesses.

You will find information to help you change or remove the ‘powered by link’ here:

I wish you determination and patience with the learning curve.

Fleety

another tip is: google your problem / issue. Most of the time google’s search is better then the search in the forum, and it also looks in the knowledge base.

I’m having a hard time trying to fix this, i dont understand where this is located. Not really sure how to create a file like that and update information, nor do i want to mess it up. Any other way to do this which would be more user friendly?

Hello JBMarketplace!

The common way of removing or replacing the “Powered by” link is described here: [url]CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation

If it is not clear enough to you, please clarify in more details what the problem is.

As for the “Skin by TemplateKingdom.com” link, you need to edit code in the “bottom.tpl” file located in the “skins/[CUSTOMER_ACTIVE_SKIN]/customer” directory of your CS-Cart installation, where [CUSTOMER_ACTIVE_SKIN] is an active skin of your storefront .

Okay, So ive changed the site skin by to my website url. Although thats not exactly what i really wanted to do. I wanted to remove Skin by and the URL all together and not have anything but the copyright at the bottom.

As far as the Powered by stuff, i cannot seem to follow the instructions to edit it. Its not very clear to me. Am i using my hosting services file manager, or am i using Administration Panel by CS Cart to edit it? And i dont see “My Changes” under customer add-on… This should be an easy process due to the fact that i paid for this software, it should of automatically been removed! Someone please help me…

This may be a solution to what you want. Go into the “Content” tab, then “Languages”. Type “Powered” or “powered_by” in the search box. Now delete everything that is in the value box and save. That should remove the powered by and link that is viewable on your page. It won’t necessarily remove it from the source code. Hope that helps.

I found a way to fix it. Thank you everyone for your feedback. Much appreciated.

As Above

This is my first website and I am slowly getting more comfortable with this process. I use the knowledge base and the forum to help me tweak this site and I am grateful for the information you guys provide. I will try to explain how I tweaked my website to remove the "shopping cart and Ecommerce solution provided by cs-cart that shows up in my browser tab when I am on the homepage.

  1. Go to Design->Blocks
  2. Click on Homepage
  3. Click on the tiny gear next to the homepage tab near the top
  4. Delete the page url and add the text you want seen by visitors of your site.

    I hope this helps.

I also have some questions about cs-cart and would appreciate the community's help
  1. When I try to see code on my control panel's edit code screen it isn't in words and I cannot understand it, how do I change this.
  2. I purchased a template skin and although I love it and plan on working with the company in the future, I would like to delete the company's logo at the bottom of my website.
  3. On Cs Cart when I forget my password on the login panel it won't re-send me a password to my email I get an error saying it couldn't find my contact information or something of that sort.
  4. I want to purchase add ons from developers but I do not know how to give them all the access they need while still retaining admin control would i set up an ftp for them with access to my public_html.
  5. I am using a shared web hosting and I do not know how to use their shared certificate, can someone help with this? Do you guys recommend using a shared ssl or should I purchase my own?
  6. Any other simple tricks of the trade that you could relay to me

I don't want to hijack this thread so if you have any information regarding the questions above I would greatly appreciate it if you could PM me. I will try to simplify your instructions and post them in the proper channels for future and current users. Thank you.
