Front End (Customer view)
o Where are subscribers inserted? As a customer/member of the website…this is just an option they can choose…either place a regular order or purchase a subscription pack that they would be billed on a set time frame (14 days, 1 month, 2 months, 3months ………12 months)the customer can choose what time frame they can be billed at.
Where would user edit ship time ? customers would edit their ship time frame either at the time of checkout or in their membership profile (i.e. change account info, password, change auto ship time, change auto ship products, etc.) each member should have the ability to change ship time, ship products, or cancel subscription
Customers can choose from a portfolio of subscription products within the shopping area…example: if they choose product 1, 2, or 3 (ect.) that product #2 would be the subscription (monthly) product that will be billed 1x per month with same product…and next month through a cron job it would be billed again at the same time and generate the same product SKU unless the customer login to their account and select another product (s) or cancels subscription

Subscriptions don’t expire Automatically
Auto generated email letting the customer know that their subscription is going to be billed on credit card and use/ship their selected autoship products…unless they login to their profile and change either their subscription or products to be ordered…the customer can also cancel their subscription anytime…
2 emails X days and X days reminder Email Module: A cron script needs to be integrated with the software which automatically sends reminder emails to the users who have booked for subscription that are due in (i.e. 2 days and 7 days.)

Integrate it with authorize.net net to push the transaction for the reoccurring billing…i am sure gets ran as a cron job with the ARB from authorize.net…
This customization allows customers to purchase subscriptions within an the website. Customers can purchase subscriptions for varying lengths of time that don’t expire unless the customer chooses to.
Store administrators can create subscription pages and attach them to membership packages. Membership packages can be created and attached to products for sale to customers. Multiple subscriptions can be purchased

So, how does it work? After purchasing a subscription, a customer can login and view their current subscriptions. Clicking on a subscription allows them to view all of the pages for that subscription.
The subscription length is set within the admin back end.
Manage Subscriptions
The subscription manager is simple. new subscriptions can be added, and currently active subscription titles can be edited or removed.
Manage Subscription Pages
The subscription page manager allows for the creation, edited, and removed. Pages created here can be attached to subscriptions for customers,. Pages can be edited using a WYSIWYG editor allowing for the easy design of complex layouts.
Add Subscriptions To Products
Adding subscription packages to products is quick and easy. Once a product is selected, a list of associated subscriptions are displayed, as well as the length of time that a subscription is valid for. New membership packages can be added to the current product by selecting it
My client is also interested in doing something like this. If you subscribe, you’d get a progressively bigger discount. Did you find a solution or is someone working on a module?

I agree with Sno - Amember is the way to go for for e member section that has recurring billing capabilities. I use it for one of my sites and it works really well. Been using it for a couple of years now.

We are having this code developed by cs-cart for our store. I’m not sure if we can package it for resale (don’t see why not, since we are paying for it), and may make it available for a fee.
any luck in getting the module completed…we are still interested in this module…we think it is a real value add for cs-cart owners… i think if users had the choice to purchase a few modules like this as stand alone add ons it would be a great one…

Eagle Rose - what sites do you use amember for? does it allow you to configure for both admin and customer views and changes? we need it so admin can set subscription times and allow customers when logged into their account can change/add/cancel their subscription to their product purchase for a reoccuring purchases…thanks

I don’t know if anyone has added amember with cs-cart… a subscription module is much needed in today’s ecommerce shopping card systems… even if it is a PAY addon…many cscart users will use this great addition… please help

Any updates to this… I really thought this was a feature in this cart since I saw the membership feature… I don’t see what good the current one is if people can’t purchase a membership and automatically give them rights to special pricing etc.
Can someone explain how I can setup a one-year gold membership to give a certain percentage discount and have it be automatic once purchased… Is this even possible? Has anyone made any mods?
I think the problem with this mod is multi-faceted… first, there’s nothing in the code to track a subscription, 2nd, there’s no easy way in the code to execute an “upgrade” script to upgrade a client’s membership level once they’ve paid…
3rd, there’s no place to keep track of what to do if the subscription is cancelled, or fails and lastly there’s no cron job that runs to do the recurring billing…
all of these I’m sure could be addressed… though the subscription tracking and the what to do upon failure are the 2 more complex facets of the problem
Still looking for this subscription module? i can’t believe anyone doing ecommerce with memberships doesn’t have this type of module… it is available for OS commerce by 3rd party developers… let’s try to have CS cart make some payable addons for the cart… itunes has app store, cscart should have additional pay apps as well…

cs does have pay (doantionware) apps but no one wants to pay, everyone wants everything free at someone elses expense, it’s the #1 reason why multiple developers have left already because we’re not being supported…

Pinch me, I must be dreaming…
Being the primiary helper “developer” on the “Recurring Billing Mod” working directly with CS-CART support, I would say that I’m sure they will “release” this MOD sometime in the near future…
We have just about completed the second version of the RB MOD, being a variable monthly cycle subscription.
RB MOD V1 - Product auto-billed on monthly basis…good until cancelled.
It’s been working now for 2 months without issue. www.nutraceaonline.com “AutoSHIP”
RB MOD V2 - Product auto-billed ONCE EVERY 1 month, 2 months, 4 months etc.
This allows customers to choose the cycle for ordered product to be billed. This is just about complete and should have it working on the site beginning of next week.
However, these are only available on v1.3.5sp4…so once they are able to port the functionality to CS-CART v2.+ …I don’t see why they wouldn’t make it available.
