Recommended php and mysql setting VPS 2x2Ghz 4GB 150GB

Hi,



I've been trying to find some recommendations about server configs but can't find them.



Could someone advise me what the best php/mysql config is for managing following cs-cart webshop?



40k products, 257k prices, 5k customers - 200 unique visitors/day



Running CentOS



2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 0 @ 2.00GHz

4194304 kB



Apache 2.2.24

DirectAdmin 1.43.0

Exim 4.76

MySQL 5.5.27

Named 9.8.2rc1

ProFTPd 1.3.4b

dovecot 2.1.15

Php 5.3.23

Provide us the:


  1. highest RES memory used by httpd
  2. the memory listed under “used”
  3. guaranteed memory for your VPS plan




  • SSH into your server as root.
  • Run top.
  • Press shift + m.
  • Note the highest RES memory used by httpd.
  • Hit Q to exit top.
  • Execute: service httpd stop
  • Once httpd is stopped, execute: free -m
  • Note the memory listed under “used”.
  • Find the guaranteed memory for your VPS plan.

The move is tonight, so no point in measuring now.



On my current server



RES memory httpd: 134

RES memory MYSQL: 755



guaranteed memory on new VPS: 4GB



I'll put the test result of the new VPS here on monday when there's traffic.

It was meant not to test your server but to re-calculate the values of the apache configuration in httpd.conf:

MaxSpare Servers
