As I could not upgrade my store from 3.06 I had to do a new install.
Started adding products and then adding images.
When I started the popup images were the original size.
Somewhere along the way I noticed that the popup images where much smaller.
I don't recall changing anything. I looked in the directory where the images were.
images/detailed/1 and 2 and so on. The directory /1 all images are named and sized correctly.
I noticed in the second directory 2 that there were images like this.
cr040.jpg
cr040@x2.jpg
cr232.jpg
cr232@x2.jpg
The x2 images were the correct size. Does anyone know what is going on. This is the latest version of Cs-Cart

I am almost sure that the issue is caused by the HiDPI add-on:

Please disable it and make a test.

I would like to inform you that the HiDPI module enables support of high-resolution (Retina) displays. HiDPI (dots per inch) are displays with significantly more pixels per inch than in ordinary displays.
Please let me note that if you use an ordinary display, the image will be reduced by 2 times. So if you wish to use this add-on, the specific images should be uploaded to your products, namely, in a high-resolution. If you disable this add-on and re-upload an image, the problem should be gone.

Turned that off and cleared the cache.
