I would like to ask you for an advice. Do you know what is the recommended size of RAM for virtual server to assure trouble free operation of CScart?
… RAM is cheap so go with 512min. My client is on 256MB with about 3700 products / 220 clients and everything looks good.
Do not overpay. You can always ask for an upgrade.
THX, I will try it with 512 and to be seen…

I don’t see any reason to purchase a Dedi for Cs-Cart. Unless you are hosting hundreds of web-sites with some pretty intense traffic, then a beefed shared-hosting would even work.
You generally want to work with servers that have between 1GB and 2GB of RAM, any higher and the price sky-rockets. And of course, the obvious Linux Distro Server vs. Windows Server. Linux will be a lot safer and maintainable, whereas Windows Servers lag in all sorts of areas.
