I’ve been looking all over the internet for a dedicated addon that will generate an email requesting customers to come back to our website and write product reviews for the items they’ve purchased after a given time period. (i.e. after 2 weeks from order “completed” status)
But I haven’t been able to find anything! Many other carts out there either have this functionality already built in or can easily been installed through an addon.
Is it me or is CS Cart the most limited cart in terms of addons available just in general? Other carts have tons of addons available through various 3rd party developer sites… yet most of these sites that I find dont support CS Cart. I dont get it!

Does anything like this exist out there for CS Cart? I using version 2.2.3.

has a mailchimp integration that can be set for this, uses the newsletter function and has good feedback.

If so, can you do what I described above with this addon? I couldnt find too many details about the review request part of it. Also, I want to send the email like 2 weeks after the order was “completed” according to the “status”. Will this addon do that? I think I read somewhere that it doesnt.
tbirnseth will probably get in on this as he created it, but from what i remember it can be triggered by events such as time or product sold etc etc.
dont quote me but I think it does seemed impressive to me but I just didnt get time to get it sorted

Ok great! and I assume this is compatible with cart 2.2.3? I read through the install instructions quickly and it said “it should be compatible with 2.2.x” so I just want to confirm before purchasing. Thanks!

tbirnseth, I just have a few more questions…
1.) Can this be setup not to be “automatic” if I want to? It may work out better for me to send the notifications manually instead of on a set time frame because I have some orders that dont ship right away and I don't want the review request to be sent before the customer actually receives their products.
2.) But if setup on automatic, will the addon send the notifications to orders placed prior to installing the addon, or does it only pick-up on orders from the date installed and forward?
3.) Also, if setup on an automatic time frame (i.e. 3 weeks after order) will the notifications be sent to canceled orders as well? or just completed orders? Will the addon know the difference?
Sorry for all the questions… I just want to make sure it will do what I need it to do. Thanks!

Yes you can set this up to not be automatic. You can actually see a list of message that are waiting to be sent and you can send them in individually or send all pending at once. Remember it only queues up a message to be sent if the order has reached that status. So if you have not yet shipped an order, as long as you don't change the order status it will not send a message to that customer.

It only sends to orders after you install. It will not go back and send emails to those orders that have already been through the process.

It doesn't send to cancelled orders as long as they didn't ship out. The main thing about this add-on is it is based on the order status. Once an order is moved to a status that you select as a “auto-mail” status it will setup a message to be sent to that customer. If you made a mistake you can delete individual emails before they are sent.

His host is just experiencing some resolver or propogation issues I think, try back in an hour or so. His site is working OK for me here in the UK. Or contact him through the forums he does good work

I can highly recommend this addon, I installed it on my test domain and wanted to do some basic changes. I emailed tony who replied quickly and was very helpful.
