I have installed 2.5.0 as a clean install, worked on the site and got it looking kind of okay, went back to view the site and all the categories have dissapeared without actually doing anything out of the ordinary.
Any ideas what may have happened?

Have you cleared the cache at all? I know that sometimes this helps me out a bit.
Yep, done all that, seems a bit buggy, so I’ve reinstalled and started from scratch, seemed to be quicker, now backing up every change I make…
