Pre filled company address for customer

At the moment. if our customer doesnt choose a state, the cart is pre filled with the state address of my website/company, so for instance
my company say is registered in Florida, the customer orders from California, but if they forget to change the state at checkout the state for delivery and billing shows as my state “Florida”.

can it be changed so they MUST select their own state, in 4.17.2

Make sure that in Settings > Checkout > Default customer location you have nothing selected for the default address and default state.

Setting ‘Default state’ to empty will not make required state feature work like below.

Thanks guys, so to be clear, in the default state field i should chould choose “select state”

One problem, if I set default state to select state, taxes do not show in front end of products

but I have to show prices with and without vat

I added a new state called “choose state” added that to my rate area,the chose it as default and then disabled the profile field and all seems ok
