When setting up the Standard PayPal there is a section where you can charge a surcharge, when PayPal charge you a fee for a transaction does the surcharge get ignored if you have entered one or do they add it to the total of that transaction and then charge you the fee?

Any one knows this?

The surcharge you can set in CS-Cart is a surcharge based on the payment type.

For example, if you set a 10% surcharge for Paypal payments and a customers order totals £100, the surcharge will be added in Stage 4 of the checkout, thus, the combined total for the customer will be £110.00.

The customer then has to pay £110.00, while Paypal will credit the retailers Paypal account with £110.00 less your fees band (which ranges from 1.4% + £0.20 to 3.4% + £0.30 per transaction), so you will end up with somewhere in the vicinity of £105.96 and £108.26.

That answers my question. I was trying to work out if the fee that PayPal applies to transactions, if they all so apply it to surcharges or if they exclude surcharges from the fees.
