PayPal IPN URL?

I seem to be able to get loads of information about what a PayPal IPN is and does but doesn’t tell me what the PayPal IPN URL is for my cart.
Is it simply my cart’s primary domain name???

Hi!

If you are referring to the deprecated PayPal legacy payments add-on, it automatically passes the URL where the IPN should be sent to PayPal. The new PayPal Checkout does not use IPN, but relies on webhooks instead, and the URL that should be entered for the webhook on the PayPal side is displayed in the payment settings.

I see no such interface as per your image.
Further, the user manual for 4.17.2 sheds no light at all.

btw I am not a developer, simply a single license CS-Cart user wanting to start using my cart again.

what do you see, can you screenshot

Found it when setting up PayPal Checkout.
Now my Checkout ‘Place order’ button is missing…lol
I only have PayPal Checkout enabled and no others
( like PayPal or PayPal Express ).
I don’t any provision to attach images.

Is the “Continue Shopping” button displayed instead?

Place order & continue shopping both missing.
All fields populated correctly.
All radio boxes ticked.
Cache cleared prior.
If I disable PayPal Checkout and enable PayPal
then Place Order button appears.
If I enable both PP Checkout & PayPal the Place Order
button appears but disappears when I select PP Checkout
as payment method.

This is odd.
I am tinkering with a free version of CS-Cart and I was able to upgrade it to
the most up to date version.
My main store ( paid version ) can’t be upgraded because it’s subscription has run out.
Both stores are experiencing the vanishing ‘place order’ & ‘continue shopping’ buttons when using ‘PayPal checkout’.

would help us help you if you can upload screen shots using this button Screenshot by Lightshot
or even use an app like lightshot

I didn’t notice the upload button in the reply box
Could have done this with MS Image Composer

Thanks for screenshots!

Please check that these parameters:

  • App Client ID
  • App Secret

in the settings of the payment method, are filled in correctly. This payment method uses its own checkout buttons instead of the default one

and the most common case why it is not displayed, when mentioned parameters are filled in incorrectly.

I agree with CS-Cart_team. When nothing shows up, it means your site isn’t communicating with PayPal.

If your settings are correct in your installation, then check your settings in PayPal. It may be something as simple as setting the app key to live mode.

Maybe I went up the wrong path at PayPal.
I went up the NVP path and generated API credentials
Maybe this no longer works.

Then I went the PRE-BUILT path ( which I had done before and had no luck ).
Perhaps I should try again but it didn’t ( and still doesn’t ) accept anything I enter.
Tried web site address ( as www.mydomain.com.au ) then tried my PP Merchant ID and keep getting an error.

So can anyone suggest what my Third Party API Username might be?

Up and running in Test-Sandbox mode.
First attempt at sending live didn’t work out too well but I think
I am finally on the right path.
I must say that the CS-Cart user guide ( as mostly usual ) played no part
in my ( so far ) success.

PAYPAL.You must be an approved partner to go live.
grrr.
Maybe I shouldn’t have gone via the developer portal :frowning:
Looks like it’s back to Pre-built Payment Solutions or NVP/SOAP API Integration ( classic ).
If it’s Pre-built Payment Solutions then I need to know what name to put into the
‘Search for third party/organisation’ box.

Found a post from a CS-Cart owner in the PayPal forum.
Following his fix I uninstalled all PayPal add ons and re-installed PayPal Complete Payments and used the API thing I created in PayPal developer area.
Off and running with no thanks to PayPal Help or the CS-Cart user manual.

In my opinion, the old PayPal was so confusing that I used the Standard PayPal (customers were redirected to PayPal) for the longest time and I had many complaints from customers because it was confusing on their end as well.

The new PayPal Checkout was so much easier to set up and it integrates all the options in one simple set up. Since using it, I have not had any complaints from customers.

I will look into writing a how-to.

Very good of you to offer but CS-Cart support should be writing the how to.
I seem to have it up and running using a REST API that ‘technically’ shouldn’t be running live until I am approved as a developer by PayPal.
All major companies have plenty of room for confused rules
