I am new to 4.2 and while surfing around the File Editor I clicked on “On-site template editing”. I now see code at the top of my homepage, but so far it seems like my customers cannot see it (image attached). Anyone know how to turn this editing back off?

you should be able to turn it off by clicking it again when on the file editor page
