According to some users, when I view the order details page I should also get something like (red box) this pic:

I dont have that shipping box on my orders details page. I tried everything (searched the forums KB and what not) and no matter what I do I I cant see the damn box.
I have free shipping selected to all my products (shipping charges are already on the pfinal price) but I belive this doesnt matter much.
Hoping that some one can help me out here.

Add a comment so the developers know this is still an active issue.
I have a somewhat related question. What is the point of that area with the red box around it if you have the create shipments addon enabled? With that addon I can make several shipments for each order if needed and I don’t see a reason that I’d use the default tracking box shown in red on the OP here. Can I just remove the code for that or am I missing a reason why I would need it?
I think it’s mostly just an artifact of the original pre-shipments days. I wish they would instead just display a list of shipments made after they are entered at the ‘New shipments’ link so I would not need to use the ‘View shipments’ link unless I needed more detail.
There are still some anomalies like where the tracking number is pulled from - the red box or the shipments screen - for the invoice. I think some of this is addressed in 2.0.13. once it is, you should be able to remove the area from th eorder screen.

The point of that red box is simply to add a tracking number given by the carrier ( in my case DHL), that will be displayed on the invoice so that the client can follow up its own order instead of calling us all the time asking about it.
I do belive thats a must.
Now if there is another way please FEEL FREE to enlight me.
Log into the demo admin area and look at an order there. You’ll see that under the red box area in your image is a link for “+ New Shipment” and “View Shipments”. This allows you to add multiple tracking numbers per order if required and makes the red box tracking number method worthless, at least imo.
Your issue is that most likely you have products setup as free shipping. When an order contains a product that has free shipping there is currently a bug that will not allow you to enter tracking information on that order. It is being fixed in the next version.

Hope they fix this a.s.a.p since Im in alot of toruble because of this.
My itens come from germany pass by me and staright to the client, some times it takes longer and I have like 50 calls a day asking about the orders… can you imagine
I just remember one thig… it maybe a quick workaround.
Will it work IF: I take the free shipping from the products and on the shipping charges put just s big FAT 0? will this have the damn red box on? and will be the shipping working ok, even tough at 0 costs?

Yes, that should work. I offer free shipping over a certain dollar amount on orders and I still have the tracking box showing. I don’t click the ‘free shipping’ on each item though, which is the only place that the bug exists I believe.
Yes it will work as long as the 'Free shipping" is not checked on any products.
