New "MyState" Profile Field

I need to add a “MyState” profile field under Billing/Shipping where the type will be “State/province >>” like the standard “State” field. Problem is that “State/province >>” is not an available type when I add a new field. All I can seem to do is to set the type to Selectbox and add in all the States as variants.

Does anyone know how to set the type to “State/province” so it looks it up in the Shipping/Taxes->States area?


This is probably a dumb question, but why do you want to add a state selector when there is already a state related to the user?
