Need FreightQuote.com Shipping Addon - Quote if you can

I need a Freight shipping option built into the cart so we can sell more frieght type items like furniture, carpet and long packages. FreightQuote.com really has the best rates and services so we are trying to work with them. The do have an API and they already are integrated with some other carts but not CS Cart and they won't do it for us either.

Anyhow, I am looking for someone to develop an addon for their API. All I really need is the live rating so the customer can add the freight shipping cost to the cart without having to call us for quotes.

Let me know if anyone is willing to do this and if so at what cost.

I have attached the API documentation and can provide freightquote.com contact info as well.

Thanks

Ken

Contact me via email at tonybXX@ez-msXX.com (remove X's) and I'll be happy to give you a quote.

I doubt you're going to find anyone who is going to quote you publicly since quotes are usually considered confidential information.

Tony, while you are at it, you might like to consider an addon for the Australia Post “Click and Send” and “eParcel” services of www.AusPost.com.au and www.clickandsend.com.au

Both have API docs available I think.

If there is enough demand, I'd be happy to. Freight is quite a different beast than postal or package stuff.

True, different beasties.

I only know of my own demand, so dont know how many Ozzies are using cscart and need eParcel and Click and send.

So thisis a topic for a different thread I think.

why not just use ups freight? with a properly setup account you can get some really good deals…we use ups for 100% of our shipping,

I do not see an option in CS Cart for UPS Freight. We do use UPS for 90% of our shipments but we have many items that require freight. We do have a UPS freight account that we use outside of the cart but we need a integrated solution. FreightQuote.com is also a little more motivated to work with us on pricing since they don't have market share. Our UPS rep is terrible and does nothing for us but take his commission and our concerns are just nodded off. You think that after spending $700 week with them they might give you a little more support but the truth is we are a small fry. Anyhow I am getting off topic. How do you set-up UPS Freight to work with CS cart?

Ken

Whats your rep's name? shoot me a pm and ill get you my reps contact information. we are setup with small package through freight prices.

do you have the shippingkit addon yet?

After looking over the API docs, do you have a rough idea as to how many hours this might entail to integrate FreightQuote.com ? I would also be very interested in this, although I think this would be a very good candidate for an addon vs. one or two of us splitting the bill. There is a definite need for an implementation like this, and the Freightquote.com program looks to be quite impressive with what they already have in place.

I do not yet have the shippingkit addon. Our new website is not yet open with CSCart. Many things to do still. ShippingKit is planned but we haven't moved on it yet as it seems that ShippingKit mearly provides the ability to Print Labels and automatically provides tracking numbers in the back-end system which is really only usefull when the store is live. We are seamingly far from being live and do not yet need the convenience of this yet. If there are more benefits as far as configuration of the store ininitially I would be interested in hearing them though. The std. CS cart configuration seems thurough enough right now for rating of non-freight items.

Thanks for the input

Ken

the shippingkit package is something im trying to modify to allow for freight labels and Bill of lading's, Im waiting to get approved for test access to freight quotes currently but I am approved for shipping labels already.

AVO-Ken,

It would be beneficial to you to strongly voice your concern “again” to Freightquote.com as to your needing their API integration into CS-Cart (I would also keep an eye on their list of current shopping carts with integration and watch for CS-Cart…)

I normally get what I want & need and I do want this integration!

Has anyone successfully got freightquote.com or any other motorfreight LTL service integrated into CS-Cart? I need it too for a client.

Struck - I actually offered to pay FreightQuote to configure the addon for CS Cart and they simply “no quoted” and it was a shocker. They simply said no!! Apparently they do not have the man power to do it. I don't know but they won't develop the solution until many customers start asking for a CSCart compatible solution.

Webtek,

I started to work with Tony on the initial phase of getting a quote but I put the initial query on hold. I will be revisiting this with Tony soon. It sounds like there are a few people interested. The next time I take to Tony I will mention that more are initially interested incase he is not monitoring this thread.

AVO-Ken,

I am working with Freightquote . com on this as we speak to have CS-Cart added to their “already integrated shopping cart list”, no guarantees quite yet, although all signs appear to be a go in making this happen in the very near future.

This is why I suggested you mention again to your account rep that you need this implementation, it’s all about timing. ;-)

The Acct rep has nothing to do with creating an addon and our acct rep is well aware or our desire to have the addon developed for CS Cart. You have to go through the API development team to get the addon which is not as easy as working with simple rep. Good luck though. Maybe you can make it happen.

I am glad you explained to me in detail how all of this works before I wasted too much of my valuable time, I most likely would have never gotten anywhere on this! :-)

Best of luck - hope you get it done
