Multi Store Question

Say for example I have car parts and boat parts. I have a store for car parts and create a new store for boat parts. Does the customer get to use the same cart and checkout if they purchase an item in the car parts store and an item in boat parts store, are both items in the checkout of either store OR are they separate carts and checkouts?

Curious as the shipping cost would be affected whether the customer has to pay 2 shipping costs or just 1 for both items?

The other question is how would you set up different domains for two different stores in the one single cs-cart install and then would the cart and checkout question above be impacted

Thanks for your help

They are separate stores. Though you could share the products between them (and customers).

Thanks…means any customer that is in both stores has to pay double shipping even if for example their products from both stores could be combined into one order and shipping cost could be cheaper when they check out

Hello,

As regards your other question, you can learn how to configure your stores on different domains here: CS-Cart Documentation — CS-Cart 4.15.x documentation

The relevant section of this article is still up to date.

Yes, at the moment carts from different store-fronts cannot be combined. Additional custom development work is required to realize this feature
