I have been told that our CS-Cart site needs to be all https throught the store (All secure). We are using CS-Cart version 3.0.5 with the SEO addon that utilizes the page urls. I've found a link to do this however I wanted to check with some of the experts here to see if this is the best way to make the site https and to be sure that it won't effect Google indexing. Any thoughts?
Link to URL to accomplish HTTPS.
Anyway, you will lose your rankings a little bit. But they will be restored soon
The main worry for us all when changing over, is the drop. I changed over 7000 pages, and spoke to webmaster support who told me there may be a small dip, but as one dips the other rises and they cross. Eventually the old links dissappear and the new links appear.
you can see the effects in you webmaster tools.
The benefits for change outweigh the slight dip.
Thank you, Sounds Like it just needs to be done.
Eventually the old links dissappear and the new links appear.
Eventually like two months, three months, one year?
