Is there a configuration setting or otherwise to make the category product images links to the product page, instead of just the title? My experience is that people like to click on a product, not just the title...

It must be isolated to your install. The images do link to the product page in my install and the demo. http://demo.cs-cart.com/apparel/mens-clothing/
