Main categories on storefront content

Hey guys

Is there a way to display main categories on storefront content in a similar way subcategories are displayed on category pages?

You can add grid with categories. But I do not remember if they have images in this block

On my frontpage I have horisontal menu and in content I have hot deals block, but before it I want to show all the kategories.
