" Do remember to define products and categories for the localization, otherwise no products will be displayed fo customers of the localizatio storefront."

If your Localizations are set up, there should be a selectbox on the categories and products pages (near the bottom).

Have you set up your Locations (not Localizations)?
Is it a realtime or manual shipping method? If realtime, do you have package dimensions entered in the “Shipping settings”? If manual, have you entered the shipping charges on the appropriate Locations tab?
Do your products have weights assigned?
Are you using the Supplier addon? If so, you need to assign the supplier to the products and shipping methods.

I have set up the Location France.
The shipping method is defined as manual.
I have defined shipping charges for this LOCATION. Cost dependence and item dependence as described in the manual .
I do not have the Supplier Add On installed;I am trying to keep it simple for the moment.
Sorry; I still have the same errror messsage in check-out “that there are no shipping options available”
I have checked and rechecked my settings. Still the same problem.

I have the same problem, by the sound of it: two locations set up (UK and everywhere else), with manual shipping rates associated. I’m not using localization or suppliers. Yet whatever I do, the system tells me that there are no shipping options available.
I’ve been going round in circles, trying to figure out what else I need to do to get this working. Any help would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks,
ian.

I’ve finally returned to and solved my version of this particular problem. The key part was that shipping is free to anywhere in the UK, whereas there’s a flat rate for anywhere overseas.
As soon as I entered an amount for UK shipping, the system started working properly. As soon as I entered zero, it stopped. Looking at the shipping_rates table in the database, it soon became apparent that entering zero simply removed the rate altogether…which is why it wasn’t found at checkout.
So I had to enter a number for the UK rate, then edit the field value in the database itself to turn it back to zero without removing the rate. And now it all works. Not sure if that’s going to be much help to you, Luziano, but you never know…
