if it
s not available ,is it mean that i must update from 2.2.5 to 3.0.2 first, and then 3.0.4 ? But there is no 3.0.2 link under my files, what should i do ? My current site is 2.2.5 .

Hey Frank,i meet the same thing ,exactly the same as you.

After searching around,it seems like that 2.2.5 can not be udpated to 3.0.4 directly. I`ve open a ticket in helpdesk, but have not got response.

have not get a reply from official support

Yes, it is possible to update CS-Cart version 2.2.5 to CS-Cart 3.0.4 one. In order to upgrade your store you need to do the following:

  1. Create a separate directory (for example: test) in the root directory of your CS-Cart installation.
  2. Install CS-Cart version 3.0.4 Professional Edition (you can download the necessary distribution package from the File Area page of this Customer Help Desk) to this separate directory. It is a clean installation.

You can find detailed instructions on how to install it in our Installation Guide: https://www.cs-cart.com/installation.html

  3. Import your current store to the latest version by using the Store Import add-on:

    http://blog.cs-cart.com/2012/07/26/cs-cart-store-import-add-on/

  4. Check this new store.

  5. If it is OK, you need to create the old directory in your root directory, move your current store from the root directory to the old one and move your new store from the test directory to the root one.

However, if you want us to upgrade your store system, generally it is not covered by our technical support service to perform upgrades. But we can upgrade your store for technical support credits, it will cost you 20 credits (as far as it is related to class 3). Please confirm it if you need it.

Please note that there will be no ability to transfer your custom modifications (if any) from your old store system to the new one. Some additional code modifications are required to implement this feature. Unfortunately, requests of this kind are not covered by our technical support service. Yet, I suggest that you should consider our custom development service. Our custom development specialist can explore whether it is possible to change CS-Cart code to meet your requirements and, if possible, can estimate your request. Please let me know if you are interested in it and I will forward your request to our specialist.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely yours,

    Anastasiya Kozlova

Is that 20 credits for them to do everything - all steps like upload files, create the DB…etc - or just to push the import store button?

I just did a store import from 2.2.4 → 3.0.4 today. Everything worked great and took only a couple of minutes. Note the site has very few products. I did note that the V3 block properties for the TOP container were modified. I.e. the “user class” was returned to being a blank.

We are attempting to upgrade from 3.0.2 Community to 3.0.4 Ultimate. 3.0.4 files uploaded into its directory. When installing 3.0.4, it wants to erase the existing database.

Has anyone upgraded from 3.0.2 Community to 3.0.4 Ultimate. How to install without erasing the existing database?

Thanks.

Tbirnseth - did you have any templates or addons installed? I am trying to do the same upgrade with no such luck. I downloaded the latest Store Import tool made for my CS Cart multivendor edition but I get the notorious “processes for a couple minutes then abruptly stops” issue. Let me know if you saw this or if you had a different context to the problem.

I'm suspicious because in the stack trace I see this error…

Database error: Unknown column 'cscart_images_links.position' in 'order clause' b

Makes me assume there is a template issue that is messing with the upgrade…

Thanks

I was able to resolve this issue.

Context: CS Cart MultiVendor w/ 2.2.4 installed, trying to get to 3.0.4; and custom add-ons and templates installed.

I have HostGator shared hosting services. ModSecurity was responsible for the error. I contacted my host and had them whitelist the rule ID 390588. This worked and I was able to quickly and successfully upgrade from 2.2.4 > 2.2.5 > 3.0.4.

You can have them check the logs to see if ModSecurity is the culprit, it may work for Ultimate.

Not sure what a missing/unknown DB column would have to do with mod security…

I don't know on the MVE import. If it's a special one, you should contact the help desk.
