i’m not sure i understand the question but…
the default setting when adding product is do not track (at least in 1.3.4 sp3)
(if it isn’t, i would think you can set it up that way through a small mod)
even if you “goof”, you can fix 100 products in about 2 minutes with manage products and modifying the inventory option.
plus, i just remembered you can disable inventory tracking in the admin—> settings
Go into the admin area and choose the setting link and go to the catalong section and uncheck the box labeled “Enable inventory tracking”
This should do the trick…
