Inbuilt Newsletter Sending Vs Mailchimp

Hi,

So I have been using mailchimp as it's free for up to 2k subscribers but on another site I assist with they are over this so are interested in teh inbuilt mailing rather than paying $50 a month for the odd newsletter.

Mailchimp is clearly easier but is the inbuilt system OK once setup initially or is it well worth paying mailchimp for less headeache etc if you are wanting ease of use for someone without HTML skills to do themself from then on?

Thanks - Adam.

I'd always use an external mail delivery system. Delivery will be higher and you don't have the risk of your own server to become listed as a spamming server.

I would advice you to check http://marketplace.cs-cart.com/add-ons/marketing/moosend-customer-tracking-cart-abandonment-purchase-reminders-and-automated-workflows.html

Not tested them myself yet but am planning to and maybe switch to them from Mailchimp.
