Inability to exclude regions for ONE shipping method

Past Saturday, a customer who lives in Madeira, which is a regio of Portugal , but at about 1000 km distance from PT, placed an order and chose DPD as courier service instead of our ‘domestic’ courier service which allows to ship world-wide.
Despite availability of DPD pick up locations on Madeira, it appeared DPD does NOT allow me to ship from the Netherlands to Madeira (or the Azores).
There weren’t any regions yet for PT, so I thought to add them and then exclude those 2 regions for DPD.

To my dismay I can ONLY exclude those regions entirely and not exclude for one shipping method and include them for another.

What am I overlooking? Or does this option not exist?

Hi i’ve no solution for the regions.
But if you ship from the Netherlands. Try: https://intime.delivery/
They are located near Den Bosch and have many shipping options.

Hello Chris,

Thanks, but we can still ship with PostNL who transfers to the national postal service. This customer ordered quite a few times before but always chose for PostNL. The weird part is that DPD does deliver to Madeira , but my hunch is they will only allow business accounts to ship , and charge extra for it making it superfluous due tot he higher cost.

For now those 2 suffice, especially with Eastern Europe being served by DPD anyhow when we use PostNL (transferring to DPD).

However, your answer doesn’t answer the question: why can’t we exclude a region for one shipping method, but still allow that specific region for another method! We had this problem before with Islas Canarias (IC), which is the only region treated differently by PostNL , but iirc solved it by treating it as if it is a separate country. (only had one order ever from that region many years ago)

It’s something I’d like to ask CS-Cart to add this option.

I think you could set madeira as its own country, rate area?

and I find this useful for shipping, very felxible
