We have observed that many customers struggle to understand how to remove items from the cart across all storefronts. The current interaction is not sufficiently clear, especially on mobile: users often overlook the delete icon or assume the removal action is inside the quantity selector.
To reduce friction and improve checkout performance, we suggest making item removal more explicit, for example:
- Visible “Remove” button (text + icon) next to each cart item
- Avoid placing the removal action only inside the quantity selector or behind hover actions
- Snackbar/Toast after removal: “Item removed — Undo” to support non-destructive interaction
This enhancement would improve usability in both the main cart and mini-cart on all storefronts, particularly on mobile, reducing support requests and improving conversion rates.
