So I came across a markup validation tool and decided to run it against our site.
It shows 215 html errors mostly neglecting to close an element and also ID Lines already being defined and XML Parsing errors.
I’m trying to correct these issues but I’m having trouble finding the file that the code is in.
Can someone please tell me if there is an easier way to find this code then opening each of the files and searching line by line?
Sorry for what may seem like a rather basic question but that should tell you a little about my software experience.
Thanks for your time.
Eric
I use Dreamweaver CS4 and in the “find” it has the option to search by the current document, specific folder, specific files, or by the entire site. The only thing is that not all of the code that comes up on a browser is laid out the same in the actual files so you still might not find what you are looking for.
Dreamweaver costs a few bucks, but is available online if you do some looking. There might also be free programs out there that do the same thing, but I don’t know what they are.
