I was wondering if it was possible for, after every customer order, there to be an email that notifies email@example.com of this. That way, when an order comes in, the order department are prompted by email rather than having to log into the admin panel to discover the same

In Orders->Order statuses, check “Notify orders department” for each status that you want the email sent.
You need to also add the email addy to: Administration->Settings->Company
Thanks jobosales - cannot find this option though so I presume it was a recent addition to the software? (I am running version cs-cart 2.0.7). Which version of cs-cart was this added to?
Also are there any quick fix solutions - I might not get around to upgrading for a short while
It’s been there ever since I have been around. If you can’t find Orders->Order statuses then something is wrong with your install.
No no, I can see the section ‘Order Statuses’. The problem is that there is no “Notify orders department” option

Looks like you are running a version prior to 2.0.11 - that is the version it was added.
Just saw you are running 2.0.7. The “Notify orders department” was added in 2.0.11 which explains why you don’t have it. As Tool Outfitters suggests, make sure 'Order department e-mail address" is filled in in Administration->Settings:Company.
For “Notify Orders Department” read post number 3. If there is an email addy entered, it will be sent.
