How to create admin with limited privileges

Hi,

I want an administrator with limited privileges.

I crated a new user group called “support Staff” with Type: Administrator and checked off the privileges I wanted them to have.

I created the new user with Account type: Administrator, but can’t see where to assign group. They just become an admin with all privileges. There are no tabs to add a group.

How do I set this up?

Thanks,

Bob

activate membership on their profile pages.

Where is this located. All users are active. I see user groups for customers, no problem here. Just the active administrators, there is no group tab.

Maybe I just don’t know where to look. All user groups are active and all administrators are active.

Thanks,

Bob

First log into your main admin account (NOT the one you are trying to modify privileges of), then go to the screen showing all administrators, click to edit admin you wish to modify, two tabs should show now: “general” and “user groups” click on “user groups” set the profile you want available for said user to “ACTIVE” (make sure it’s active and not on anything else) disable all other user groups, that should do it.

Hi,

that is what I did, however, I don’t have the tab-user Groups. I have them for customers, but not for any admins. All admins are active.

See attached.

Thanks,

Bob

User groups tab will only show when you logged onto root administrator and when you’ve saved the new user.

If it still doesn’t work you might want to try contacting support.

hbtrading,

Thank you. I got it to work. The key was:

I have not logged into the admin as the root administrator since it was installed. I always log in as another administrator with all privileges that I created for myself after the install.

Is there anything else that only a root administrator can do that other administrators can not?

Thanks,

Bob

No problem
