How to count backlinks

Hi,



I want to know if we have backlinks from the different domain with same IP address then they will be counted as 1 or many Backlinks by search engine …



if we have published our article on any site with 2 or 3 hyperlinks in tht article thn those different hyperlinks will be counted as 1 or many backlinks…



And If on same Article directory we have published 2 different articles with hyperlink for same client site thn tht 2 articles will give us 2 backlink or 1



Please suggest…

I think that there will be only 1 backlink.

yahoo is the best place to count backlinks.
